Test out VS Bunzo Bunny without fear

FNF Bunzo Test is a free rhythm video game wherein you can play around with the sound effects and animations of the fan-made mod, Poppy Funktime. Developed by Bot Studio, this is essentially a “fan game of a fan game” and doesn’t have much gameplay.

Both titles are connected to the games Friday Night Funkin’ and Poppy Playtime - Chapter 2. However, unlike other FNF mods, FNF Bunzo Test isn’t actually a mod and was simply inspired by the Poppy Funktime mod—also known as the “VS Mommy Long Legs and VS Bunzo Bunny” mod.

Lots of inspiration involved

Friday Night Funkin' is a popular free open-source rhythm game initially developed by ninjamuffin99 for Ludum Dare 47. It features a 2D view with colorful characters, wherein you must input the required arrow keys in time to the beat to successfully “sing” the right note and win funky rap battles. The game’s popularity led to numerous mods featuring pop-culture icons, like video game and animated TV show characters.

One is these is Poppy Funktime by richilix, which adds the new enemies Mommy Long Legs and Bunzo Bunny to FNF. They’re from the second chapter and DLC of the hit survival horror game, Poppy Playtime, and the mod uses their unique “fight” scenes as the stages. The “VS Bunzo Bunny” level is the last one to be added to it and is the main focus of FNF Bunzo Test.

True to its name, you can test the mod’s gameplay mechanics. Here, press the directional arrow keys to make both Bunzo and Boyfriend do their animations and musical sound effects. You can switch between them by hovering on their icon at the bottom. You can also enable touch controls for mobile. For a special sound, press the Alt key. However, aside from these, the game offers nothing else.

Not really a game

FNF Bunzo Test is a nice little treat for fans of the Poppy Funktime FNF mod, but it doesn’t really have much substance to it. Not only does it just have animation sprites and sound effects for half of the characters of the mod, but it only focuses on the “Musical Memory” level where Bunzo can be encountered. It would be nice to add more gameplay mechanics you can test.
